How Are Shortfill E-liquids Different From Regular Vape Juice

The key difference between shortfill e-liquids and regular vape juice is that with shortfill e-liquids, vapers need to mix two components together to achieve their desired nicotine content.

When you purchase a shortfill e-liquid in your chosen flavour, you’ll actually receive between one and five bottles in total. The largest bottle will be either 50ml, 100ml or 200ml and will contain the nicotine-free vape juice and won’t be filled all the way to the top.

The other bottles will be 10ml bottles of nicotine shots, or nic shots, which the vaper then needs to add to the shortfill bottle to create their desired nicotine strength. How many bottles of the nic shots you add will depend on the nicotine strength you’re used to vaping, the more bottles you add, the stronger the hit of nicotine will be.

How To Vape Properly Step By Step

Batteries – The rechargeable batteries found in vaping devices can be built-in or removable, with modern vapes usually containing 18650 batteries or a close equivalent. The battery source of a vape can also be referred to as a vape mod.

Tanks – Sometimes referred to as an atomiser, tanks hold the coil and a reservoir to hold additional e-liquid. There are different types of tanks categorised as rebuildable, sub-ohm and regular.

Coils – Also known as atomiser heads, coils make vape juice from the e-liquid tank by heating it to produce vapour.

E-Liquid – Also coined vape liquid or vape juice, e-liquids are available in a variety of strengths and flavours. E-liquids typically contact Propylene Glycol (PG), Vegetable Glycerine (VG), flavourings, and nicotine.

How to Change E-Liquid Flavours Step by Step

I was reminded of this recently when a customer queried how to change juices in a pod. There are three options – and sometimes mixing can work.

In this post, we’ll explore each of the three different methods for switching e-liquid flavours in a vape tank or pod. Whether you’re looking to change flavours completely or mix and match, you’ll find everything you need to know here.

How to Fix Common Problems For Disposable Vape Troubleshooting

This can be very frustrating - the whole point of a single-use vape is that they are supposed to be easy. You should just take them out of the packet and inhale.

Fortunately, issues don’t happen that often. However, when they do you will want to know what to do.

In contrast to a refillable device, there’s not always a lot you can do. However, sometimes you can troubleshoot the issues.

In this post we’ll cover common issues and what causes them, as well as possible solutions when they exist.

You’ll also find one solution which will fix all your future disposable issues!

Do note that the solutions we provide are geared towards UK users, and can be different from American disposables, which are often rechargeable.

How to Choose the Best E-Liquid

Nowadays, though, there is a ton of choice. You can choose between high VG and high PG, between nicotine salts and free base, between 10ml and shortfills and more.

In many ways that’s a good thing. The different options available mean that vaping can meet the needs of more people. But it can also be very confusing when you first start vaping!

We’ve put this post to explain what the different types of e-liquid are, and what needs they address, so that you can choose the right e-liquids for your needs.

How to Fix a Vape Flood

Flooding is the most common cause of leaks, or shall we say fluid leak-out? Because it is actually something different. It happens when you suck too hard on your device, which causes liquid to overflow. With too much flooding the atomizer, and the wick not being able to vaporize it all, the liquid will rush out, either onto the battery or into your mouth. As you have probably imagined, or already know from experience, it is an absolutely disgusting occurrence. And most likely, one you have no interest in repeating.

Flooding a battery can be detrimental on a large scale, as it can totally kill the battery, or leave it making a wretched gurgling sound. You can tell if your battery is flooded if you are able to see that the liquid is coming from the area where the battery and cartomizer connect.

Other causes of flooding are when tanks get overfilled, or if the atomizer coil has gotten too old to perform properly.

What Lies Ahead for Vaping in the UK?

Vaping in the UK has garnered considerable attention in recent years. With an estimated 4.7 million adults turning to E-Cigarettes, it has grown increasingly popular as an alternative to traditional tobacco smoking. The NHS and the UK government have expressed notable support for vaping as a smoking cessation tool, citing its lower risk compared to conventional cigarettes. This backing stems from ongoing studies showing the potential health benefits of switching from smoking to vaping.

However, this rapidly growing industry is now facing new challenges as the government contemplates introducing stricter regulations, sparking lively debates on the potential implications, benefits, and drawbacks. This article aims to shed light on the upcoming changes to the UK's vaping regulations and their potential impacts.

Changes to UK regulations being discussed

Against the backdrop of the vaping industry's rapid growth, concerns are rising about the surge in under-18s taking up vaping. The UK government, at the behest of various health leaders and political figures, has initiated a comprehensive review of existing vaping regulations. A consultation document has been released discussing the impending outline for the government's plan.

The primary objective of these proposed changes is to deter young people from the habit, thereby, ensuring that vaping remains a tool primarily for those seeking to quit conventional smoking. Crucial aspects of the potential changes include the ban of disposable vapes, restrictions on vape flavours, and exclusive retailing in specialist stores. The government is walking a fine line here, trying to balance the benefits of vaping as a smoking cessation tool against the risk of fostering a new generation of nicotine addicts.

Vaping is worse than smoking

Despite mounting evidence to the contrary, the World Health Organization (WHO) remains adamantly opposed to acknowledging the potential harm reduction benefits of E-Cigarettes. This stance by the WHO has been a significant hindrance to quit-smoking campaigns, particularly those advocating vaping as a safer alternative to combustible tobacco products.

Central to the WHO's damaging claims is the notion that e-cigarettes pose an equivalent, if not higher risk than traditional smoking. This assertion has not only muddled public perception but also undermined the credibility of numerous studies indicating that, whilst not completely risk-free, vaping is substantially less harmful than smoking.

The unequivocal war by the WHO against vaping has far-reaching implications. It fuels fear, perpetuates misinformation, and most importantly, discourages smokers from shifting to less harmful alternatives. At Pod Salt, we believe it's time to challenge these misconceptions and present the scientifically-backed facts about vaping's potential as a harm reduction tool.

How To Choosing a Nicotine Strength Refills & E-Liquids

If you are new to vaping, you may be wondering which nicotine strength you should start with.

This depends on various factors including your current nicotine habits and which vape kit or e cigarette you will be using.

Everyone is different and you may find you need to adjust the strength you use to begin with or over time, however,

please refer to the tables below to find out more information about the different products and nicotine strengths available for each.

How Dose The Disposable Vape Battery Work

All Disposable Vape are powered by batteries located inside the e-cig itself and can be charged and recharged multiple times.

(Which is why here at blu, we call our batteries “rechargeable Battery”.) The mechanics of an e-cigarette battery are simple: the battery powers the coil inside the clearomiser,

which is then heated to convert the e-liquid into vapour. This vapour is then inhaled by the person using the e-cigarette.

BUT HOW DOES IT ALL COME TOGETHER?

If you’re curious as to how e-cigarette batteries work, look no further! Here we’ll go through a few of the key points on how your battery powers your

e-cig and how you can make sure you look after it as best you can

How To Maintain Your Disposable Vapes?

Your vape will collect dirt, dust and e-liquid residue throughout the course of the day, even if it’s just in your pocket or bag. To avoid a build-up of bacteria,

it’s best to clean the tank at least once a week. Not only will you gain optimum performance, you’ll enhance the flavour too。

It’s also worth cleaning your vape each time you change your e-liquid flavour, to avoid getting a stale taste of the last one you used.

This is much easier than you might think – and it’s quick too! All you need is warm water and a cloth or piece of kitchen roll to dry the tank.

Firstly, pour away any leftover e-liquid from the tank and disassemble it. Rinse the tank thoroughly under running warm water to ensure you wash away any lingering e-liquid residue,

then dry the tank as much as you can.

How To Recharge-A Disposable Vape

Let’s start with a simplified version of how to recharge a disposable vape. It’s a quick and easy task, but you will need some basic mechanical and electronics knowledge. To get started, you will need a micro USB charger male-to-male cord and a USB outlet. These cords and outlets are commonly used with mobile phone chargers, headphones, and other devices.

1. Remove the cap located at the bottom of your disposable vape pen.

2. Place the Micro USB cable end into the device port.

3. Connect the other end of the charging cable to a USB port to begin charging.

How to Spot a Drug User

There are often clear warning signs that point to someone using drugs. A change in behavior alongside some clear physical indications, such as meth sores, are the telltale signs that a person is using drugs.

You are probably wondering, what are meth sores? They are open wounds that can form almost anywhere on the body. That is just one of many potential warning signs to look out for.

Let’s take a look at some clear warning signs that indicate someone is using drugs.

Relationship problems

A classic sign associated with drug use is when someone becomes withdrawn and steps away from relationships with friends and family.

The drug user might also change their friendship circle to reflect the people they have become entangled with.

Do You Worry About Breathing Secondhand Vapor?

Secondhand vapor (which is technically an aerosol) is the vapor exhaled into the atmosphere by an e-cig user. Like secondhand smoke, it lingers in the air long enough that anyone in the same room (assuming the room is small enough) is likely to inhale some of the exhaled aerosol. As the name indicates, the bystanders are not inhaling secondhand (or passive) smoke—because secondhand e-cigarette vapor simply isn’t smoke.

Smoke is a product of combustion. Burning any substance with fire—including wood, leaves, a building, or any plant material, including tobacco—produces volatile gasses, carcinogenic solid particles, carbon monoxide, and a mixture of dangerous byproducts that in cigarette smoke is called tar. Secondhand smoke isn’t as dangerous as inhaling directly from a cigarette, but regular and prolonged exposure to it is considered a serious hazard.
